This action packed guided tour is a great way for adrenaline junkies to see the area and have some real fun ! Tours may begin & end on the property. Be prepared as this tour may include (at your discretion) mountains, river crossing, and rides along the beach. ATV’s are also available for daily and weekly rentals and ATV’s may me dropped off and picked up at your private home.

Sea Kayak & SUP

Curu Nature Reserva has a finger long Bay and estuary where you are sure to see a wide variety of endemic birds and sea creature, monkeys sloths Macaws and even crocodiles have been spotted on this tour. For the adventurous and hearty you may even attempt to paddle out of the Bay to the archipelago of the Tortuga Islands. This is an ideal spot for flat water SUP paddling. SUP’s may be rented in town and paddled right in front of the property, depending on your ability level and the swell/ocean conditions.

Bioluminescent Bay

Bioluminescence can be created in a rare number of pristine environments found in only a handful of sites around the planet, far from modern industry and human impact. The glow is a naturally occurring phenomenon produced by algal blooms that carry and support millions of bioluminescent dinoflagellates. These tours are magical and are conducted in small groups for minimal environmental impact to this pristine and unique marine environment.

Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve

Costa Rica’s first National Park was started in 1963 by Olof (Nicolas) Wesssberg. It is commonly refered to as Cabo Blanco or formally known as the Cabo Blanco Absolute Natural Reserve; Costa Rica’s first and oldest Park. Best of all it’s right down the street, at the extreme southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula. This protected area includes over 3,140 acres (12.7km) of land and 4,420 acres (17.9km) of marine park. And was created to support environmental education, teaching , research and education. On site facilities include classrooms, laboratories and a reference library. The park is located in an important transition area between the wet and dry tropical forests and therefore boasts over 140 species of evergreen and deciduous trees, including the tall and impressive Espavel (Anacardium excelsum), the Guacimo Colorado (Luehea seemanii) and the beautiful Cortez Amarillo (Tabebula ochracea) which is particularllu spectacular in the dry months of March and April. Commonly spotted animals include the howler monkey, and white-faced capuchine monkies, white-nosed coati and white tailed dear. There is also a healthy population of endemic bird species including brown boobies and pelicans especially around the Cabo Blanco Island. Private and guided tours by certified guides can be arranged at your convenience.

Canopy Tours

Backing up to the world famous Cabo Blanco Absolute Natural Reserve and with breath-taking views of the mountains and seascapes, this Local Canopy tour is sure to please kids of all ages in your group. The Mal Pais Canopy tour is close by and easily accessible with no prior experience. The tour includes 11 platforms from 5 to 30 meters above the forest floor, with incredible rides of up to 500 meters in length over canyons, along rivers and with some spectacular ocean views. No Costa Rican Vacation is complete with out an exhilarating zipline experience through the tropical forest. This tour takes about 2 hours and costs $ 45- per person plus $ 5- round trip transportation per person.

Deep Sea Fishing

Fishing tours go out of the local village of Mal Pais just 10-15 minutes from the property. Prices are very affordable staring at @ $ 70- per hour with a 3 hour minumun for a 23’ panga for 5 passengers (or $ 85-per hour in a 26’ boat foro up to 7 passengers)with a qualified local capitan. This is both a scenic trip, as your bound to see parts of the Cabo Blanco Park and as well as a fishing trip where you can catch many local fish, including tuna, mahi mahi, red snapper, Spanish mackeral, barracuda and many others. You may even stop for a dip in the naturally occurring bubbling waters created by the sub-acquatic volcanic activity in the area.
